Our 2021 restart was both an enriching and educational experience. The elaboration of the town soccer field in Lorena kicked off our first initiative impacting multiple stakeholders at the communal level. After months of planning & hard work, and thanks to our volunteers, we completed the first step in the creation of a small stadium. The field is out of service to allow the grass to grow properly; in December, we will officially inaugurate the eagerly awaited ‘cancha’ with a communal soccer match. Stay tuned!

Thank you, Don Emiliano for opening your  home to us and a BIG thank you to all of our volunteers for continuing  to make projects like this possible. Check out our gallery to see some before and after pictures. Pura Vida!

Thank you to the women of Lorena, as well as our friends from Lena Cups in the U.S. and Ciclica.cr in Costa Rica, for efforts dedicated to promoting menstrual equity through product donations and education about eliminating misinformation gaps at both geographical and cultural levels. Thanks to their support Siempre Amigos was able to facilitate an educational focus group about products for a menstrual cycle friendly to the environment and the human body.

The field inauguration was a great success! Kids and adults from the community as well as neighbouring towns came together to celebrate the anticipated “cancha”!

Year around we are committed, as we gradually grow and learn, to our goals for Siempre Amigos which are to continue to create spaces that bring together a different array of actors interested in taking action by coming together and working hand by hand to further improve our communities.
